SpaceX has recently announced that in the year 2018 it plans to send a couple (identity kept secret for now) for a casual trip around the Moon. A step ahead of the popular Virgin Galactic, which is looking to send people into space for leisure, SpaceX's plans open doors to a whole new industry of space tourism and that too much earlier than any of us had expected.

But before we go ga-ga over SpaceX's pioneering and ambitious plans, here is an info graphic about the very humble Moon that will play a big role in getting the couple back to Earth but is not being given enough credit.

Mesotheolima is a rare cancer of the inner lining of the organs such as lungs, abdominal cavity or even the heart. It is usually caused by exposure to irritants such as asbestos and most patients affected by this rare disorder come from occupations such as mining, shipbuilding, plumbing among others. Asbestos Advice Helpline surveyed 2000 people who were at risk of developing this type of cancer but 70% people could not name even a single symptom. That's why they have come up with this infographic to raise awareness about this deadly disease.

The US EPA or Environmental Protection Agency, recently called Volkswagen's bluff that it was adhering to emission controls set for its diesel engines. In its admission, the German car maker confirm that its cars were equipped with a software that enabled them to detect when they were being tested for their emissions and improved its performance to pass the test. Once the test was completed, the car returned to its higher emissions, which includes the dangerous nitric oxide, capable of causes respiratory distress. It is not just the Volkswagen cars but also the Audi and Skoda cars that are capable of cheating at emission tests.

You are on your way to an extremely important meeting and stressed to your core. You are well prepared, on time but still you feel weighed down by something invisible, something huge that you simply can't get rid of. But suddenly, you see the neighbours cat meowing out to you and stop in your tracks to give her some attention. A little scratching behind the ear, a little on her tummy and the cat is all over you now.... purring, rubbing, purring, licking, purring and porbably even nipping a little. The cat is enjoying this little attention you have given her and you have forgotten all about the stress.... the meeting seems distant now and most importantly, you seem to be at peace. How did this happen?

This is the healing power of cat purrs. There is an old adage that goes,

If you put a cat and a bunch of broken bones in the same room, the bones will heal

While this is not to be taken literally, purring in cats has been shown to have some healing powers. We are admitting this, not because, our grannies told us so, but because there is scientific evidence to show this. Various studies have shown that interacting with cats can reduce your blood pressure, risk of heart attack, help heal bones, joints,ligaments and even soft tissue. So your toothpaste has the best anti-bacterial properties there are to offer and you use it every morning and evening. If that was not enough, there is also the anti-bacterial soap that helps you kills those germs on your hand and the anti-bacterial detergent that is keeping your clothes clean as well. You are well protected from all the germs but what about the poisoning it causes.

Brushing your teeth in the morning might seem like a trivial thing to do, but did you know that every time you rinse your mouth, you are sending down a batch of antibacterial products that are still active and cannot be broken down by sewage treatment plants. Triclosan, or Triclocarban, the commonly used anti-bacterial agents in toothpastes, soaps and disinfectants, cannot be broken down and often find their way to water bodies. We all left school long ago but these technical terms seemed to have pledged to haunt us everytime. Every now and then, we discuss something about the Earth and we are at a loss of words to explain what we really mean.
