A Maggot
If you thought a munch of maggots squishing around that rotten meat was spine chilling this close up would beat that as well. This extreme close up is proof of where art directors get inspiration for alien creatures.

Human bone
This abstract artsy image of the shin bone is beautiful. The outer layer of the bone is made up of a compact layer of bone, while this honey comb like pattern comprises the inner part of the bone, the region which also contains bone marrow.

Foot of a House Fly
This picture of the housefly foot showing amazing detail. The claw is used to grasp onto rough surfaces while the hairy fur, beneath the claw help the fly adhere to smooth surfaces, much like the gecko.

Gecko Leg
The small hair allows the gecko to have an amazing grip, which is serving as inspiration for building equipment to lift objects in space.
